During a six week stay in Lisbon, our family explored the different parts of the city which often involved visiting playgrounds. Often we choose an area of the city to explore based on the location of nearby parks. It is a great way to see the real Lisbon and gives kids a chance to have fun while being a tourist.

A family excursion to a Disney on Ice show is a guaranteed source of entertainment for kids. Unfortunately, after having laid out cash for tickets, vendors at the show do their best to entice children to want flashy toys and cotton candy at exorbitant prices. Paying $20 for a snow cone and $15 for cotton candy is a quick way to drain a wallet. However, a little advance preparation can avoid this pitfall and still let your kids have just as good of a time at Disney on Ice.

Aix-en-Provence is a market lover’s paradise. This town has an outdoor market for every day of the week. Many days there are more than one market open. These markets in Aix-en-Provence were the reason we decided to stay in Aix for our month long stay. Every day we enjoyed venturing to all the different markets to buy fresh food for our lunch and evening meals. 
The old town of Aix is very walkable with all of the markets located within a few minutes of each other. We would often start our day at the daily market and then continue on to each of the other markets with a stop at a café for a nice little rest and a treat.
